What the Tor Watch link status light means
A status light is only useful if you know the rule behind it.
Amber: awaiting review
The slot exists but the Tor Watch link has not yet passed a dated comparison. The button reads Link pending and cannot be clicked.
Green: reviewed
The address, its source and the landing page matched our records at the time shown. The button reads Go to link.
Maintenance
If the onion service is unreachable for an extended period the slot is marked as under maintenance instead of being swapped for an unverified Tor Watch mirror.
Why we never auto-update
Links are changed by hand after review. Automatic swaps are how copied pages end up on lists that people trust.
